She feels privileged that she was then able to remain home with her three children for 14 years, enjoying her ability to easily volunteer for their varied school and church activities. When ready to return to employment, she first worked as a hospital social worker, but was delighted to join Forever Families Adoption Services and thinks it is a great privilege to play a small part in the adoption process of so many wonderful families. Her awareness of and sensitivity to the unique needs of children who live in poverty draws her to the children of Haiti. She has made numerous trips to Fort Liberté since 2007, the first two with her husband and three children.

On a more personal note, Clair married that rowdy little boy from her 4-year old Sunday School class after attending 1st -12 th grades together and then attending college three states apart.
